For more than 25 years Stephan Hofstetter has been a successful senior manager with P&L responsibility at several internationally operating SME and Global Fortune 500 companies. He brings those management and execution skills to his clients at SECOIA – achieving concrete results in challenging start-up and turnaround situations and other highly demanding and complex projects.
Expertise
Stephan worked for leading brands and companies in the ID and Homeland Security field, including Securitas, Trüb (today Thales) and RUAG Defense. He drove the development of identity and border management portfolios, led successful market entries in Europe and Asia (such as HongKong Smartics, EstEID, SwissID and many more) and redesigned product portfolio-structures, sales & innovation teams and work streams, often reducing both costs and time to market by more than 30%.
He is nominated expert for over 20 years to ISO (SC17 WG3), CEN (TC224 WG 18, 19, 20) and ICAO working groups related to Identity, is editor for the CEN breeder document policy standard.

Education
Life and field misions teach the real lessons, with success and now and then a bumped head.
But for the theoretical part, Stephan studied Electronics Engineering and Business and Production Engineering at the Swiss Polytechnic Institute in Zurich. He has a Masters Degree in Security Studies from London Met University and Bachelor Degrees in Printing & Media Engineering from FHNW and Business Administration from GSBA.
He is a certified Quality Systems Manager / Qualitymanagement Auditor ISO 17024:2012 / ISO 9001:2015.
