When Stephan, our founding partner took over the lead-moderator role of the LinkedIn group “ICAO ePassports and eID Cards” years ago, the objective was simple: create a space where the people who actually build, regulate, and secure the world’s identity infrastructure could exchange knowledge without the noise.
No vendor spam. No algorithm-driven content. Just practitioners — from government authorities, international organisations, standards bodies, and specialist companies — discussing the technical, policy, and operational questions that define this industry.
Today the group has grown to over 9,000 qualified members. It is, to our knowledge, the largest professional community dedicated to electronic travel documents and electronic identity cards on any platform.
What makes it work is what it excludes. Every membership request is reviewed. Every post is moderated. The standard is relevance, not reach. The result is a community where a question about biometric data interoperability gets answered by someone who helped write the standard, and a question about document security gets answered by someone who is a front line practitioner with two decades of experience in several countries.
